Description
Soft Texture, Grounded Presence
Our Artillery Fern (Pilea microphylla) offers rich texture and quiet visual depth through its dense, cushion-like growth. Its small green leaves form a soft, almost mossy surface. As a result, the plant adds fullness and richness to a space without demanding attention.
This tropical foliage plant adapts easily to indoor environments. Therefore, it maintains a tidy, vibrant appearance throughout the year when grown in containers.
Well Suited for Indoor Displays
Artillery Fern works beautifully in decorative containers, dish gardens, and terrariums. Because of its compact growth habit, it fills space evenly without overtaking surrounding plants.
Indoors, it thrives in bright, indirect light. In addition, evenly moist, well-draining soil and stable indoor temperatures support healthy growth and consistent texture.
Easy Care with Thoughtful Stewardship
Artillery Fern is known for being low maintenance and reliable. With consistent care, it remains compact and visually full.
We grow these plants with care and offer them for indoor, contained use only. As a result, they provide beauty without ecological impact. Each plant is selected for healthy growth and transitions smoothly into its new environment.

Stewardship & Care Note
Artillery Fern can self-seed vigorously in outdoor environments. For this reason, we do not recommend it for outdoor planting in Maryland. Instead, we intentionally offer this plant for indoor, contained use only.
When grown indoors, the plant may occasionally produce small, inconspicuous blooms. While uncommon, these blooms can release pollen. Those who are sensitive can simply remove them during routine care before they mature.
