We are a sanctuary rooted in wellness, balance and purpose.
From dried herbs crafted into intentional bitters to living plants that steady
a room, we believe nature offers both nourishment and restoration. One
supports the body through time-honored botanical blends. The other
supports the mind through the quiet rhythm of tending and growth. Together,
they reflect the philosophy that guides us as stewards of this work;
that care can be both something we take in and something we cultivate.
Beyond the Bloom is the official blog of 40 Day Living — where deep-rooted knowledge meets a sprinkle of soul. More than a place for plant lovers, this is where our four pillars speak the loudest: plants, wellness, mental health, and legacy. Every post is mindfully grown and lovingly planted to feed your curiosity, nurture your spirit, and honor the journey of growth — in the garden and in life.
An urban farm focuses on growing agricultural products, often food. A plant nursery specializes in cultivating and selling plants for home and landscape use.
At 40 Day Living, our urban farm supports our wellness and stewardship. Our nursery allows us to share plants and knowledge with our community.
We offer houseplants, herbs, perennials and starter plants suited for Southern Maryland conditions. We also provide select wellness goods and educational resources aligned with our four pillars: Plants, Wellness, Mental Health and Legacy.
We grow many plants on-site and source additional selections through a trusted network of Southern Maryland growers. Every plant is selected for integrity, climate compatibility and long-term performance.
“Soil & Soul Curator” reflects our mental health and wellness pillar. Through writing and reflection, we explore how caring for plants mirrors caring for self. The blog gives language to what the land has taught us: balance over burnout, stewardship over excess and rest as part of real living.
40 Day Living is our urban plant nursery and wellness sanctuary based in Southern Maryland. It operates under 40 Day Communications and reflects our hands-on work growing, sourcing and sharing plants that thrive locally. Through the nursery, we serve our community with houseplants, herbs, perennials and education rooted in stewardship and intentional living.
40 Day Communications is the parent company and creative foundation behind everything we do.
Founded from a passion for multimedia production, environmental storytelling and documentation, it began with capturing people and stories through photography and video. Over time, that same lens turned toward the land — documenting plants, gardens and horticultural spaces. What started as documentation evolved into cultivation, and from there, into the creation of 40 Day Living.
40 Day Communications is the root.
40 Day Living is one of its living expressions.
40 Day Communications documents, educates and amplifies environmental work through media and storytelling.
40 Day Living grows and nurtures that work through hands-on cultivation and plant sales.
One captures and communicates the mission.
The other lives it daily in the soil.
We are both, intentionally.
We are a USDA-registered urban farm where we grow produce for personal wellness and cultivate land as practice and restoration.
40 Day Living operates as our plant nursery, offering seedlings, herbs and landscape-ready plants to the public.
The farm is where we live and grow.
The nursery is how we serve.
